Freezing Temperatures

Temperatures are expected to be below freezing overnight this week.

We want you to be prepared going into next week, so we are sharing some tips to keep your pool equipment from freezing over night.

1. KEEP ALL OF YOUR PUMPS RUNNING.

As temperatures creep below 40 degrees and toward freezing, you want to turn all of your pumps on - filter pump, booster/cleaner pump, water feature pumps. Keep them running until temperatures get to a few degrees above freezing. We recommend turning all of them on before you go to bed each night.

You are welcome to heat your pool+spas to decrease the chance of freezing, but the MOST IMPORTANT thing is to keep your water moving.

2. IF YOU LOSE POWER, drain your equipment immediately.

Open the pressure release valve on top and unscrew the drain plug on the bottom of your filter.

Open up the lids and drain plugs on all pumps.

Open the drain plug on your heater or disconnect/unscrew the plumbing.

Drain as much water out of your equipment & plumbing as possible.
