Fall Pool Maintenance Tips

Even though our temperatures haven’t started to drop, “Fall” in Texas is just around the corner. Our pools will be full of leaves, pine needles, and debris from trees and shrubs before we know it. Here are some tips to keeping your pool nice and clean this Fall!

• Empty your skimmers daily (at minimum…sometimes 2-3 times per day in peak debris fall)

• Empty your pool cleaner daily (at minimum…sometimes 2-3 times per day in peak debris fall)

• Increase the time your pool cleaner runs each day

• Continue running your filter pump 10-12 hours per day through debris falling season

It is important to keep debris from sitting in your pool as it can cause staining on plaster, more debris will be caught in your filter, and phosphates will increase in your water if debris is left in the pool.
